This video originates from my library of photographs that I have taken of Lake Inverell and Copeton Dam at Northern NSW near the town of Inverell. I hope that through this video you get a better idea of the beautiful spot we live in. All shots were taken at Lake Inverell and at Copeton Dam. A Cannon R5 and a Tamron 150 to 600 mm zoom lens was used. The shots were taken handheld from my kayak in the last 16month. They are now part of the HOMETOWN Inverell Project and will become part of a book going to be published..

Tom Danger Mouse

The story of three brothers and a little Koala at Goonoowigall. While playing in the woods the brothers noticed a koala up in the trees doing some acrobatics in the branches enjoying a pleasant afternoon. The Name Danger Mouse was chosen by Murray the oldest of the brothers. The Koala appeared frequently  in the part of the woods where the three spend their afternoons and Danger Mouse loved entertaining the boys. But one day bad luck struck their little friend when a tree branch gave away resulting in a serious accident.

Breakfast Paddle.

One of the most enjoyable times paddling the Macintyre River and Lake Inverell is early morning or late afternoon. While early in the morning you often get the mist on the water and later in the afternoon you may get a magical sunset. You really need to try this, it is one of the most enjoyable activities you can do. Good for body and soul. A paddle like this can be a life-changing experience for you. To see this wonderfull piece of nature, to listen to the rivers gentle flow, to see the sunrise over the water and to listen to the birds and sounds of the bush.

I would encourage everyone that visits Hometown INVERELL to experience this.. For a booking ring Joeys Adventure Tours on 0427210359. It doesn’t matter if you are a group, couple or single person.

The Bell’s Turtle

The turtle is only found in a couple of areas in the state's north — the Namoi, Gwydir and Border Rivers systems — and is listed as a vulnerable species. On one of our ECO Tours for the Department of Lands we shot a small video that will explain to you the efforts undertaken to save this species from extinction. Click the button below to watch the video. If you come and visit Hometown Inverell these are just one of the many things you may see and experience. Put Hometown Inverell on the top of your list as a must see destination.
